How to Take Perfect Before and After Pictures for Plasma Fibroblast Treatments

Why Before-and-After Pictures Are a Big Deal

  • Proof of Progress: The magic is real, but having side-by-side photos makes it even easier to see just how far the skin has come, and remember every client's skin progress will differ.
  • Professionalism: Consistently great photos scream, “I know what I’m doing!”
  • Marketing Gold: With client permission, these pictures can help you show future clients how amazing your treatments are. nb! only if you have their consent in writing.
  • Confidence Booster: For clients, it’s like a visual diary that says, “Look at how fabulous I’m becoming!”

How to Keep Things Consistent (Because Lightening Matter)

When taking before-and-after shots, consistency is key. If angles, lighting, or poses change, it’s like comparing apples to oranges! Not always possible, especially if client take there own after pictures.

Here’s your winning photo formula:

  • Open Eyes: Take one photo of the client looking straight at the camera.
  • Side Profiles: Snap shots of both the left and right sides of the face, making sure the client is looking straight forward.
  • Closed Eyes: Repeat the same positions, but have the client close their eyes (and ask them to relax their facial expression).
  • Alignment: Keep the head and posture the same every time—it’s like hitting “copy-paste” but for poses!

Preparation for the client

  • No Makeup
  • Hair Out of the Way: Use a headband or clip to keep hair off the face and neck.

Lighting + Location = Picture Perfect

  • Lighting Matters: Natural light is your BFF. Avoid shadows and overexposure.
  • Same Spot, Same Time: Whenever possible, take pictures in the same location and at the same time of day to keep pictures consistent.

When Your Client Takes Their Own After Shots

Most of the time, clients can’t come in for progress pictures, and that’s okay! remind them of these golden rules:

  1. No Filters Allowed: As tempting as it is to add a glow-up filter, we need the real deal. Filters can hide the magic of the treatment.
  2. Good Lighting: Encourage them to use natural light or a well-lit room.
  3. Same Spot, Same Time: Whenever possible, to take their pictures in the same location and at the same time of day to keep pictures consistent.
  4. Follow the Photo Formula: Open eyes, closed eyes, left and right profiles
  5. Clean Face: No makeup or filters.

When Should Clients Send Progress Pics?

Tracking progress is fun, and timing is everything! Here’s the ultimate schedule for your clients:

  • The Day After Treatment: to see, Swelling? Puffiness? if any.
  • 1 Week After: Things start to calm down, and it’s a great time to check in.
  • 4 Weeks After: Progress is showing! Skin is starting to repair itself beautifully.
  • 6 Weeks After: Those subtle changes are becoming more noticeable.
  • 8 Weeks After: Your skin is on its way to full transformation mode.
  • 12 Weeks After:! Your skin is glowing, smooth, and radiant—this is the final result!

The Proposed Photo Sequence to your client

Here’s the step-by-step for a flawless before-and-after series:

  1. Front View (Eyes Open): Look straight ahead, head neutral.
  2. Left-Side Profile (Eyes Open): Capture the left side.
  3. Right-Side Profile (Eyes Open): Snap the right side.
  4. Front View (Eyes Closed): Same as step one, but close those eyes.
  5. Left-Side Profile (Eyes Closed): Relax, and repeat the same position.
  6. Right-Side Profile (Eyes Closed): Stay consistent for a perfect match.
